The School is located in Kianda, Kibera near Bombolulu Centre and it opened in 2006. At our School, every Child is a promise of a better future, where “every dream is valid”. We also believe Education is the key to fulfilling promises.
The approach to teaching and learning is based on the following Pillars:
Quality Care, Quality Education, Qualified Staff, strong Partnership with Parents/Guardians and the Community.
At Jamii Yetu Education Centre we believe that quality education is about preparing for Life. Our learning approach focuses on Academic Excellence and helping Children to develop their character, creativity, values, leadership skills and nurture talents. We value each Child by providing individual care and attention, carefully adapting the new Curriculum to meet his or her interests.
We recognise each Child has special talents and abilities, limitless potential and unique. We value Parent’s/Guardians trust in allowing us to provide the Education and Care that will enable their children to grow while advancing towards their future dreams and aspirations.
With us the Children are safe and secure in an environment that is Child-friendly incorporated with a daily Feeding Program to all Learners.

OUR MISSION
To support vulnerable orphans, who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS and other diseases, and who live in extreme poverty. Jamii provides food clothing, education, psychological guidance at no cost to hundreds of vulnerable children. We hope by providing these services these children will grow to be productive and successful young adults.
